A big deal recently has been made out of the Electoral Finance ACT (2007) (EFA). As an unregistered party it does not affect the DAFT Party just yet, but this does not mean that we do not have a view on it. The DAFT Party acknowledges the need to limit spending by political parties, and the transparency of where the funding can come from, and how people can advertise. This is why a DAFT government would scrap the EFA and replace it with the Party Expenditure Act (PEA). (more…)
While Labour have been glossing up the fact that they have just secured a Free Trade Agreement with the biggest economy in the world, the DAFT Party have not been sitting idly by. DAFT trade negotiators have been petitioning governments the world over, and we are quietly confident that we have secured a FTA* with a player, that is even more important to NZ than China ever will be.
